  • When I purchased my Nike+ GPS running app I told myself it should be motivation enough for me to run. Needless to say, I failed miserably at that one. Maybe I needed a new motive, something far worst and horrifying to run away from… Zombies, of course!

  • Right Apple, we totally need the ever-distracting Facebook in our College Survival Guide. Right.

  • Finally got Tetris from the App Store when I saw a price drop. I used to be addicted to Tetris, and this was a game I always enjoyed playing as a kid on those old nintendo gameboys. I had always seen this in the Top Paid Apps tempting me to get it, but $4.99 along with a bunch of negative reviews didn’t cut it for me, but whatever, I just decided to get it anyways.
Check out the Blippy purchase to see how much I got it for.

  • Did you know Apple’s App Store is about to reach 25 billion downloads? That’s a lot of apps!
Not only do they have a live app downloads countdown on the Apple website, but a live countdown right inside the App Store!
Just like with the billionth downloaded app contest, Apple is ready to hand out a $10,000 iTunes card to the lucky person who downloads the 25 billionth app. If you haven’t been on the App Store in a while, make sure you check it out this week and get downloading (alternatively, you can also fill out a form if you don’t want to download anything here).
The prize may not be cash but who doesn’t want to be the privileged owner of a $10,000 item?

  • The newest, graphically intense iOS game that is blowing everyone’s mind with its original I-can’t-believe-this-is-on-a-phone reaction and epic usage of Unreal Engine 3 technology just hit the iOS market a few days ago and completely dominated the App Store as to even achieved the coveted Angry Birds-owned number one spot in the Top 25 section.
Infinity Blade, by Epic Games, Inc., only goes to prove the awesome power of the iPhone, especially if you have an iPhone 4 with its sweet Retina Display. Progressively, the iPhone is becoming the number one mobile gaming device out there. If I were Nintendo, who refuses to acknowledge the iPhone as a mobile gaming competitor, I’d be pretty scared.
This is just the first step in complete iOS mobile gaming domination. The Unreal Engine 3 technologies will soon be available to iOS developers and soon we will be seeing more and more Infinity Blade-like games. Aside from the immense thrill about this, I also find myself desiring and hoping Apple soon releases an iPhone with memory bigger than 32—like, let’s say, 64 Gigs? C’mon, Apple, we know you can make this happen, especially since more and more games with intense graphics are going to be popping up in your store soon.
