Like the rest of the world on September 14th when Apple started taking pre-orders, I pre-ordered my White, 64GB iPhone 5. And just like most of the world who ordered through AT&T instead of Apple because the shipping had changed from 1-2 weeks mere minutes after opening to the public and AT&T still showed guaranteed delivery on the 21st, I will be iPhone 5-less on release day for trusting my mobile company.
I just got off the phone with an AT&T representative from the wireless orders department. I called them asking for some information on the order I had placed on pre-ordering day. Their reply: You may have to wait a little on that one. Expect a shipping notification in 2-3 days (even though I was to receive the phone tomorrow). My instant reaction was hanging up on them and regret loudly how I should have pre-ordered from Apple instead. First AT&T fights against certain iOS 6 features by forcing us into a more expensive plan (let’s not even mention the removal of full Unlimited service from iPhone users in the past), now they will delay the joy it is to hold the new phone on the very first day.
I had little homework, 3 classes cancelled and I managed to come home today from college to anticipate getting the iPhone 5 being delivered on Friday. Thanks for ruining my perfect week, AT&T.
